Is there such as thing as too much adventure?
They say challenges forge you but I never expected sailing across the Caribbean would fit that description. Here’s what I learned from overdosing on adventure as we sailed through sailors paradise.
The last few weeks, Falkor, its captain (aka me), and crew have sailed from Barbados to Cancún, or more precisely, to Isla Mujeres, a small island community a few miles east of the towering hotel complexes of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Sailing across the Caribbean has been anything but the dream vacation I imagined it to be. At times has felt too much: too much heat, too many waves, too many hours out at sea, too many things to fix and do when we hit land. A relentless adventure on a ship that is begging for care, and also, a journey to free myself of external symbols of success and rediscover my inner hippie. From Barbados to Mexico, in this section, you can read about some of the things that we have learned along the way.
